I have been an art educator for over a decade and have been a professional artist for 20 years. I pursued art education and art history from Northern Illinois University where I have obtained my bachelor of science in education degree in 2006. I later received my Master of Science in Education in 2011 with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction in Technology.
Today I have a passion for creativity and education. I thoroughly love what I do in my classroom with my students everyday while my students learn about art history, art techniques, artist of modern day, and so much more. Each day is new and different with my many student artists working hard to build a strong portfolio.

Art 4 Heart with Riverside Healthcare 2022
Please help DTHS congratulate Hailey Heath on receiving Honorable Mention for the Art For Heart Competition at Riverside Hospital. She did an ink and watercolor mixed media drawing of an organic heart that she titled "My Passion" and entered it in competition amongst several local high schools. We are incredibly proud of her to be the only Trojan Artist accepted into this juried art show and take home this achievement. Congratulations Hailey!
Swinging Bridges Art Festival 2021
Please help us in congratulating Hailey Heath who won first place in drawing at the Swinging Bridges Art Festival May 2021. She did a fantastic pencil drawing of the musician "Prince". She has the honor of having her work displayed in the professional gallery in Pontiac for the month of May.
